Venture Reflex Films is the Montreal-based production outfit for documentary and narrative filmmakers Christopher Bobyn and Andrew Lampard.
Venture Reflex Films was born out of a late night coffee run in the winter of 2004. Queen’s University film students at the time, Christopher and Andrew met at 4 am at a Tim Horton’s in Kingston to take a break from writing their term papers on documentary theory. What initially began as a poorly veiled attempt at procrastination by the two friends eventually turned into an extended conversation about the types of films they would love to produce one day within Canada. After the two graduated from Queen’s two years later, Chris called Andy and pitched him his idea for their first feature-length film.
After 9 months of outline development, investment pitches, grant applications, and corporate sponsor meetings, their first film, a responsive documentary about Kosovo’s long struggle for peace, finally begins principal production on July 12th, 2007, in Belgrade, Serbia. |
